Portishead Taekwon-Do
About me
I am a 4th Dan black belt in TaeKwon-Do and I began my training when I was 18. I joined PUMA in 2000 and achieved my black belts under the tuition of Mr Richard Thornton 4th Dan black belt. I still train regularly with Mr Thornton at North Bristol TaeKwon-Do in Yate. I have participated in the competition circuit at both local and national level and still regularly take part in competitions having won medals from bronze to gold for patterns and sparing  I have a keen interest in seeing my students excel at what ever goal they set themselves and in becoming great martial artists. Some Questions Answered: Are you qualified? Yes.  I am a 4th Dan black belt in TaeKwon-Do, and hold a TaeKwon-Do instructor qualification.  I am also required by P.U.M.A. to hold professional liability insurance and a first aid qualification.  I participate in the P.U.M.A. child protection scheme, under which all P.U.M.A. instructors are police checked through the enhanced CRB scheme and attend regular child safeguarding seminars.  I also continue my own training under Mr Richard Thornton 4th Dan Black Belt who is instructed by Master Ray Gayle, 8th Dan Black Belt, the Chairman of P.U.M.A. I've never done any martial arts before and am not very fit. That’s not a problem.  I cater for all levels of age, fitness and ability.  I recognise that everyone is different and adjust my teaching accordingly.  Rest assured that you will receive care and attention at my schools to help you achieve your martial arts goals, whatever they are. I hope you will enjoy your training and I welcome you to Portishead TaeKwon-Do School, if you have any questions then please don’t hesitate to ask me.
